Budworth Hall

Grade 2 listed Community Hall Renovation Project

 

We were entrusted with the renovation of a Grade 2 listed community hall in Essex, a building that hadn’t been decorated in over 20 years and was in need of substantial updating. With its historical significance, it was crucial to balance preserving the hall's charm with modern improvements, ensuring it would continue to serve as a valuable community space for years to come. As the hall serves as a multi-functional space for various events, we worked closely with the hall’s committee to understand their vision and requirements, ensuring that the renovation would cater to all the needs of its diverse activities.

The first step was to assess the electrical installation, which showed signs of degradation. For safety and longevity, a comprehensive upgrade was essential to meet current standards. 

The project involved providing a new ramp and staircase to improve accessibility for all users, along with provisions for a future stairlift installation, ensuring the space was inclusive for those with mobility challenges. We also fitted modern, functional, and performance lighting to create an optimal environment for events, and incorporated connections for a new audio system to enhance the hall’s versatility.

Additionally, we made extensive repairs to the ceiling, walls, and woodwork, restoring these historic elements to their original glory. The entire space was then meticulously decorated, transforming the hall into a high-quality, welcoming environment that retained its heritage while offering the modern amenities needed to support a wide range of community activities.

The result is a beautifully restored space that offers both historical elegance and contemporary functionality— a community hall that stands ready to continue its legacy as a hub for events and gatherings for many years to come.

Flat refurbishment

​Works included:

  • Knock through kitchen/lounge wall to create open plan living area.

  • New kitchen installed in new design with full rewire.

  • New ware bathroom with large shower instead of bath.

  • Plastered and decorated.

  • New flooring throughout.

  • Works were carried out to a fixed budget agreed prior, we were responsible for all design work and specifications to achieve the best finish for the budget.

  • All works completed in 3 weeks to provide turnkey rental property for the landlord.

Flat refurbishment

  • 2 Bed house refurb.

  • New bathroom 

  • New kitchen 

  • New carpets and laminate

  • Full redec

  • New boiler and radiators

  • New fuse board

  • Kitchen full retire

  • Replace UPVC patio doors

  • Install front patio and steps

  • All completed in 5 weeks

2 bed flat refurbishment

  • Full redecoration, new windows, new luxury vinyl flooring 

Domestic refurbishment
